Senior Project
Instructor: Kim Towns
All Seniors are required to complete a Senior Project during their 12th grade year at Superior High School. The sooner you get started the better. Remember that all seniors must complete the entire project by the end of April 2015 in order to qualify for graduation.á It is important to note, you are not allowed to start your project until you have had a formal proposal approved by a senior project coordinator.
á
All projects have 4 major components:
a proposal that has tasks to complete for one of the 4 categories
a mentor form signed that shows the student connected with the community/an expert to learn
a log of 20 hours with signatures of the mentor at least 3 times
a reflective essay (with 3 sources cited) that tells what was done and reflects on valueá
When all 4 are done:ádescribe your learning in an 8 minute presentation.

á
Seniors, use this learning requirement to do something, learn something that you didn't seem to get the chance to do in these 12 years.á Choose wisely what activity you will participate in; something you want to learn is done without difficulty or "watching the clock."á Instead, it becomes a pattern for independent learning beyond the classroom and beyond school, when you order your life.á What a great gift you can give yourself if you onlyáchoose well what you do for the project.á It is required anyway....have fun doing it!
